Fotomuseum Rotterdam | 'Quickscan #2': Jan Rosseel
Following the successful first edition, the Nederlands Fotomuseum is once again putting its finger on the pulse of Dutch photography, which is still in full swing, five years later: QUICKSCAN NL # 02.
What is happening in photography in the Netherlands? Where does the renewal take place and what does it look like?
For this exhibition, fifteen to twenty photographers working in the Netherlands are selected with work that in most cases has never been shown before and is not older than two years.
The participating photographers and artists in QUICKSCAN NL # 02 are:
Laurence Aëgerter, Gwenneth Boelens, Jan Dirk van der Burg, Anne Geene, Jan Hoek, Stephan Keppel, Kasia Klimpel, Sjoerd Knibbeler, Ola Lanko, Willem Popelier, Jannemarein Renout, Jan Rosseel, Collective Salvo, Marleen Sleeuwits, Batia Suter, Elisabeth Tonnard and Mariken Wessels.
Identifying new trends
As with the first edition, QUICKSCAN NL # 02 is not so much about scouting young and promising talent, but rather the focus is on showing innovative ways in which photographers, graphic designers and visual artists use the medium of photography. What new paths and new possibilities are they exploring? What new developments can be detected and what could they mean?
