What comes to light when photographing nature with the approach and intent of creating a portrait? Looking at it not as an unnamed part of a landscape, but engaged more gently and focused, as an individual, a ‘portrait sitter’. A mortal being whose essence and traces of existence we can discover. A handle for our longing to perceive more than what is visible. A mirror for our own existence, revealing that ‘being’ means ‘becoming’.
